also, I’ve been meaning to ask you.

outside of doing the work yourself, did you take that e30 to any shops out here in phoenix? my fiancé is not happy with where we take it now, and it seems like most bimmer spots stay away from the older e30s, hers  is an ‘84.

Unfortunately, I haven’t tried out any bimmer shops that I’d recommend for an E30. However, if you hit up the Pavillions car show (every Saturday night at McDonald and the 101), there’s usually some dirty thirty guys there. They’ll probably have some good recommendations.

If not, there’s a few BMW guys at AutohausAZ that may know of places , and as a last resort, Goodspeed in Scottsdale has hosted classic BMW events before so I’m sure someone there knows of a place. Goodspeed can probably work on an E30, but they’re oriented more towards the modern tuner crowd.

If there’s no good recommendation there, I had an alignment done on my wife’s X1 at an indy shop called Schulte Automotive  in the Melrose District. They seemed to focus more on Mercedes, but the owner knew BMWs too. Only had an alignment done, so I can’t comment on more comprehensive repairs.

great recommendations, thank you!

I’ll have to give autohaus a call tomorrow and see what they say.

funny you mention goodspeed, the place I take my wagon, babbitt motor werks is in the same plaza. and babbitt did tell me they could work on it, but typically don’t see that old in the shop, so I figured I would try and find a place that specializes.

I’ll have to check with goodspeed as well.
